The APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) is an independent high-level group of business people who advise leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) on priority issues for business in the region. ABAC was established by regional leaders in 1995 to provide business input into the APEC forum.
ABAC Members are appointed by leaders of the government from each of 21 APEC Economies. ABAC has 63 Members, comprising of 3 business leaders from each of the 21 APEC Economies, whereby one of the three becomes the economy’s Chair. The host economy’s Chair serves as ABAC Chair. Presidential Decree No. 79/M of 2012 dated 31 August 2012 gives the mandate to the current ABAC Indonesia Members and Alternate Members.
